Does Acai Berry Detox Work?
Acai Berry Detox is another acai based supplement that claims to “help you lose weight, remove toxins from your body and increase energy levels.” Acai berries are indigenous to the Amazon Rainforest and have been used there for centuries to prevent disease. Acai berries are also very high in anti-oxidants and no doubt provide health benefits, but acai has never been proven to promote weight loss.
Acai Berry Detox Website
- The Acai Berry Detox official website lacks important information such as ingredients and ingredient amounts.
- The Acai Berry Detox website looks suspiciously close to many other acai supplement sites. They are all being marketed by the same company under different names and most are scams.
Acai Berry Detox “Free Trial”
- Acai Berry Detox claims to offer a “free 15 day trial”, but they actually charge you $87.13 for the free trial bottle 15 days from the day you ordered. How is that a free trial?
- You are automatically enrolled in a monthly auto-ship program, but its not safe or healthy to stay on detox programs long term. So why are they trying to trick you into more than a months supply of Acai Berry Detox?
How Much Is Acai Berry Detox?
A months supply of Acai Berry Detox is $87.13. Acai Berry Detox is ridiculously overpriced and they do not offer refunds.
Acai Berry Detox Conclusion
Acai Berry Detox is most definitely a scam and is not going to promote significant weight loss. You may drop a few pounds of water weight from its laxative effect, but you aren’t going to see permanent fat loss. I do NOT recommend Acai Berry Detox.

Is this a scam? Another website gives the same story but this time it`s a college student . Same spiel.
Yeah the first 14 day trial is for free but after that you get hit with a bill of 87.13 which is not noted in the advertisedment! I just thought I would give people a heads up! I not happy with it at all…
I took the free sample and sure enough they billed me 15 days later and then again 10 days later, but they charged me again for the $3.95 shipping fee as well!!! I did not see any results from this and agree strongly, SCAM all the way.
DONT FALL FOR THIS AS I DID!!!!
acai berry detox is a SCAM!!! this product is not worth the bottle it comes in. i ordered the product and before receiving it was charged $40.00. once recieving it, it did nothing. don’t order this.
SCAM ALL THE WAY!!! Don’t try to contact any of their phone numbers either, they are all forwarded to same answering service ( to a girl somewhere in India or Asia) or disconnected…. Their return policy is shady to say the least, saying you need a RMA (Return Merchandise authorization) number or a full refund, but they refuse to give it to you unless you receive a second bottle! (which is not on the REFUND Policy) Oh yeah, like that’s worth another $87.13!! Even though I caught the charge the same day, they say you expired your 14 day “Free Trial” period – which by the way was never explained on the original order that they would charge for it. I believe my next correspondence is to the Better Business Bureau.
Those are a band of liars and thieves, the free trail is not a free trial and your card will be charged as was mine and dont try to get it back, because it wont be refunded
Same here. No disclaimer on the website order that I could find about the 14 days – just got my cc bill and there was $87.13 charge. I called – not so helpful!! Said wouldn’t take off the charge because it automatically started my “membership” after the 14 days. Said another shipment was in the mail and that I could return it for a refund! I’ll definately be sending it back and hopefully can get my money back – disputing it with the cc company at least for now!
How do I get them to stop sending this. I changed my mind before I got off the website when I saw it had an automatic shipping program, but it still came with no address or phone number to cancel…can anyone give me a phone number to call.
no it is not a scam. u have to read the tearms and conditions. i read them and it gives you a 14 day trail. i got my bottle 2 bottles in 3days. I called and cancelled after 9days. they never further charged me. the only number that is correct for them is the one in terms and conditions. wen i cancelled i got a ref# incase any future problems and i had none! so if u read the first time ppl wouldnt be getting charged. they say their getting screwed but if they had read it the first time they wouldnt have!!
o.k first of all the free trial thing cool. everybody knows that before you give out your cc#’s to read the terms and conditions if you didn’t thats your own stupidity
\
I wish I had checked this web site before I fell for the free trial.
@ more bottles came in the mail 2 weeks later which alerted me to something being wrong.
Then my credit card called me saying there was suspicious activity on the account and they recommended we close the account immediately which I did.
I just got my bill and the $87.00 charge was there but an additional charge of $83.00
was posted as well for some other berry thing I never ordered either.
This is a real scam!!
Let’s get the word out so others don’t get duped like we all did.
Cancel your credit card immediately so they can’t keep accessing it. Also cancel your account ASAP and get a confirmation number.
I aslo ordered this product but just read your coloum and cancled my card and called to cancle my order they tell you to visit their web site dont bother……….just hit that you want too order more and they not to happy will cancle but make sure you get conformation #……. DO LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS
I tried this with Tri Slim weight loss capsules, paid the shipping charges, then I found charges for about $250,00 on my credit card that said I signed up for a fitness program which I did not and charges of 149.00 for the first month’s supply of triSlim capsules. I was so very angry and got even angrier as I tried to have these charges removed from a phone in Las Vegas where I talked to an Indian woman in trying to get these charges removed. She did not even want to talk about the charges but went on a selling campaign over the phone about the fitness program and the capsules. Boy it was a big mess and I got angrier and angrier. I contacted my credit card people amd then went back to the phone of the Indian girl and let her have it. I finally got the charges removed. They put these charges on my card without my persmission. I did not know that Acai was this way but I had heard about it recently and did not order from them. Thanks for letting me vent!
I have tried all day to contact this company. The emails will not go thru and the telepnones have been disconnected.
This is a scam. This company is taking your money and will not refund your money
no matter what the reason. For medical reasons after I read the label on the
bottle I was unable to take the Detox. I called on the 15th day which was on a
Monday as I JUST RECEIVIED THE PRODUCT ON Saturday and the office were
not opened until today (Monday). My account was charged the $87.13 on the
15th day and I was told I WOULD NOT BE REFUNDED ANY MONEY EVEN THOUGH
I could not take the Detox for medical reasons. Please don’ waste your money.
I made the mistake of trying the Acai Berry Detox “free trial” and came to find that there was nothing free about it. Not only does the product not work. it’s a scam of dynamic proportions. The best advice that I can give is to google acai berry detox scams.
I ordered, received the product and yes canceled as soon as i read all the reviews. i had NO issues canceling. call 866 949 0138. it is my fault for not reading the fine print. but i see no scam here.
these people are a bunch of theives i am not going tostop calling them until i get my money back because their product does not work that means we have te right as americans to get back our money so iam not stopping until i get my refund from them .
Same thing happen to me i ordered the product on june 14th then i was charged 2.97 then on june 29th i was charged the 87.13. I called and they gave me some Rma number and told me to ship the product back to get a refund. I will now close my account since i have read the other customer emails on this site. Rip off.
I just cancelled my “subscription” by calling (866)949-0138. fIrst i cancelled using the automated system. Then I called again and spoke to a rep to make sure that It was indeed cancelled. I also made sure that I was only going to be charged for the shipping (.99 cents) since I cancelled within 14 days. I was assured of that and I was given a cancellation number. I also got the rep’s operator ID.
God luck!
i see all these complaints about customer service….but does the product actually work????
i ordered and cancelled after 10 days (i made sure to read the small print) so far i haven’t been charged, my fingers are crossed. i started taking the product 2 days ago and see no effects yet but wanted to see if anyone else has had any positive results….
Any time you are suppose to get something for free, you are very stupid to give your card number anyway. To make sure that you do not get charge get the address and mail a money order for the shipping and handling charges. That way you will have a reciept for you merchandise and you won’t be out of a lot of money if you don’t get the order.
Hi, I ordered the product under the trial basis; I received the product but haven’t used it yet. I was wondering if anyone could discuss the results verses the billing issue. I just want to make sure the product is safe and at least works if we’re going to be billed at such a high price. I haven’t cancelled mine but I also have NOT been charged anymore.. Don’t know why but I guess “who cares”…
A scam all the way. The advertising is misleading. They charge you $82.13 before you get the product advertised as a “Free Trial”. They only ship it 15 days after you ordered. I know its buyer beware out here, but there are staff crowing on line about the millions they are making for selling “magic beans”. I order lots on line and have never had to have a lawyer interpret the advertising. Bravo to all of you who checked within the 15 day period.
was just bout to order this stuff when i decided to check it out here first thanks for all the comments not going neware near this thing now!
After reading all the above comments, on the day I received my 14 day FREE trial sample for a mere 99 cent S/H…I called the number to remove myself from their subscription list, so as not to have $ 87.13 charged to my credit card…I called twice and twice I was put on a long, long hold …I called my credit card… she got customer service on the line right away…I was told by the ACAI emploee exactly what to do…was assured, I would receive a refund…gave me a RMA number…I am so greatful for all the comments, they were a real eye opener for me.
I too had ordered the free trail product and was ripped off as well $87.13 was drafted out of my account. I did not even receive the product. So I just had assumed that since I did not get it I was just out .99 cent only. Yes I too am one of the ones who did not read the fine print but have ordered other weight loss products before and this is the first time this has happened to me. So lesson learned for me now but I see I am not the only one. These types of companies need to be prosecuted ,fined and made to return peoples money. They prey on peoples desire to be healthy and thin. People don’t have money to just throw away especially in these hard times today.
Please tell me who you contacted to cancel your order. I did not authorize an auto debit from my account. Therefore it is very important that I contact these people.
Thank you for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My experience with Acai Berry began while waiting at a pharmacy for my order to be filled. I picked up a pamplet and it sounded interesting. I called the phone number on the back and made an order for 1 month supply of Acai Berry Detox Fat burner and a bottle of Life Cleanse. The person I spoke with told me about a bonus of a double order for a total of $39.95 and $3.95 S&H. I was also told if I wanted to cancel after that to just call and cancel, no additional charges. About 10 days after I recv’d my order I called to cancel and was guided by a recording on how to cancel. After I entered my credit card number as directed the message said the order had been canceled. About 4 days later here came another double order in the mail. I called again and checked by entering my card #, and the message said that my order had been canceled. Again a few days later here is another double order in the mail.
Then the card statement came. I checked and had been charged $39.95 and S&H several times, and charge $87.13 4 times.
I could never speak to a human when I called.
I finally called my credit card company and had to change my card #, and they removed the charges. They said every time I entered my card # to cancel, the company would send out another order. They were familiar with the scam.
this isn’t a scam. if you would just read the terms and conditions you would know that you have to personally cancel your or BEFORE the 15 days. I got my bottle and set a reminder on my phone to cancel on the 9 th day. i never got charged anything else.. READ PEOPLE.
Like other people have said on here READ THE SMALL PRINT in terms and conditions it explains everything !!!!!!!
I am using this product and i have been on it for 3 days now , I have lost 4lbs already and my stomach is starting to get flat very quickly….
I have cancelled my subscription and got through straight away using the number they give you in the “terms and conditions” they then gave me Ref number incase i have any trouble after the 15 day trial.
All i can say is read Terms and Conditions like you would when you buy anything else !!!!!!
I agree with everything you said. This is a scam!!!!!! The company has many different names and everyone you google has scam written all over it. I was charged quite a few times and also could not get through to one of their bogus phone numbers so I had to call my credit card company and cancel my card because they will keep charging to your account. Please don’t be scammed like I was and many others were!!!!!
I don,t feel so awful, since I was not the only one that was charged before i received the free trial bottle. i was supposed to receive it on 8/1 my account was billed on 8/12 I received it on 8/19. I also agree that when you call, you get someone in India or some far out olace. I contacted my bank who was very understanding and fixed my account hooray for Chase. I will never do this again. IT IS A VERY BIG SCAM
ordered the FREE TRIAL on Acai Berry Detox. 3 days after, my credit card charges shows $29.99 charge… what a SCAM…..!!!
This isn’t a scam as far as you getting billed. It states you’ll be billed within 15 days of the purchase date if you don’t cancel…
YOUR responsibility was to cancel your future subscriptions/shipment after you ordered your free trial bottle at .99 cents. Granted, when you call the 866-0138 number, you have to wait a bit, but you DO get to speak someone and cancel it. I got my cancellation number as proof of cancellation. I was billed the . 99 cents, but never anything else! The company did exactly as they stated they would!
I also chatted live online with another rep via the company’s web support page (myordersupport.com)…and I confirmed that my future shipments were cancelled and that I was billed only the .99 cents.
READ THE TERMS BEFORE YOU AGREE TO ANYTHING!!!
Now, as a side note…I’m not so sure if the product has been proven to help in weight loss, but heck, I’m only in it for .99 cents and acai berry is proven to be good for you.
The stuff they sell in the stores is so expensive!
I saw the ad for “free trial” Acia Berry Detox…So ordered my free trial…Wish I had seen this page before I did that…… My account was charged $86.42 ….Nothing in the ad says anything about further charges or canceling after 15 days….. I have called the company twice. Talked to some foriegn lady (no speak a good english person) both times…First time she says my account will be credited and further orders canceled….Yeah right…Second time I say I have a confirmation # from 1st call that says my account will be credited…Can’t tell me why that hasn’t been done..To say nothing about the new charge of $86.42 since they supposedly cancelled something I never authorized in the 1st place….Had to call my credit card company and have my card destroyed and get new one….I have never been so angry and ticked off in my life…To top it off, they say they sent it and I have to send it back….I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN ANY THING…. The second time I called I asked the “no good English” lady to put her boss on…Supposedly she does…Prob just another worker…Still can’t tell me anything….So, consequently , I turned into the B***CH that I am really good at being….
I requested that I did not want to buy the product, I have been charged 172.00 for items ido not want and can not find out how to stop the carges to my card. Any Help, help
what number did you call? I had read the terms and conditions and realized there was a charge but i figured i would cancel before the trial was over. I waited on the phone for over an hour and kept getting sent back to the menu, i could never get a live person, finally i decided to cancel myself and when i was attempting to cancel it kept cutting into different messages, repeating a different card back to me or telling me it was cancelled but cutting off before it would give me a ref #, so i finally just gave up and cancelled my credit card. I would appreciate a phoen number though, maybe it will be different then the one i called? i would still like to cancel the order just to be safe.
I agree with Tiffany. That’s exactly what i did and what happened with me.
Buyer Beware. Not only does the product NOT WORK, but they give you 14 days to cancel from the time you place your order, but the product doesn’t arrive until day 7 giving you about 7 days to try it which is a joke. I cancelled 10 days after purchasing but still got billed $87.13
This product producers AND sales company are ALL SCAM ARTISTS making money off unsuspecting people just trying to lose a few pounds.
I guess I should have read your comments first, but I didn’t. After I read it, I immediately called & received someone with a very strong accent. I was told that I had to wait 10 to 24 hrs before I could cancel since I had just placed the order (like 5 minutes later I called to cancel)
I will be calling back by the 2nd day to cancel even the .99 trial.
I want nothing to do with this after reading all the comments. You can buy some ACAI products at your local Walgreens.
You people are idiots, it clearly states in the fine print that your card will be charged
if you dont cancel your free 14 day trial. LEARN HOW TO READ!!!!
Don’t you people read the Terms and Conditions? You keep saying it was a scam, but it clearly states what you’ll get charged. I mean really, read it carefully. You have to scroll down to the bottom (normal) to find the Terms and Conditions. I assumed that the product must work really well if I were to be paying just less than $90 a month. I googled the product which led me here. So I’m reading the reviews and comments and I decided not to order; not because you “think” it’s a scam, but because it’s not FDA approved or it’s ingredients (which was also stated in the Terms and Conditions), detox prorams are not meant for long term. Yes, these people are trying to sell you a product…but they clear themselves in their Terms and Conditions. Buy at your own risk. None of you seemed to garner the types of results the website talks about…which is what’s important to me. Did you know that by ordering the product (according to the Terms and Conditions) that it means that you’ve certified that you’ve read the Terms and Conditions? Did you also know that in the Terms and Conditions, you agree to see and consult a doctor on the use of their product? You people scammed yourselves I think by not being smarter about your purchase and letting yourselve become distracted by the “FREE TRIAL*” in big print and the Terms and Conditions in the small print. Did any of you even call the Customer Service line first before you even purchased the product…to at least see if someone answers? Come on.
THE PHONE # FOR ACAI DETOX IS 1-888-949-0138, I GOT MY FREE TRAIL TODAY THEN CAME ACROSS THIS SITE. I’M GOING TO TRY IT ANYWAY BUT I THINK I’LL CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD, I’M NOT PAYING $87.00. UNLESS OFCOURSE IT WORKS. I’M GETTING HUNGRY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!
damn, there is so much diet crap out there and the only way to lose weight is to eat healthy and work out daily. Our bodies are just not made for the food there is out there these days. Most of us want a quick fix and not have to do much about it. There is no such thing as a magic pill. If anyone finds one, please let me know.
i thought it was a free trial period until i was slapped with a bill of $80.95 and i called them and raised hell..and they gave me a RAM # so i could return the portion i hadn’t used and they would refund me my money..i guess they gettn sick of the complaints for bad business!!!
the two numbers I have are 866-906-6551
8668850150
the two numbers I have are 866-906-6551 and 866-885-0150 They are both linked to the same place. I hope you have a better chance than I did. They said that the terms are claerly stated and then offered me a free $50.00 gift card for my misunderstanding. This has made my life a nightmare.
well im sorry to here that you people didnt read the terms and conditions because that the first thing i did and yeah it does say they will charge you card every 30 days if you dont call to cancle i order from 3 differnt compainy’s and i got charged 1.95 three times and that all . i call cancled and i got to speek with american people not any indain and i also happy to say i have lost 14 pounds
i can’t speak for this stuff personally; but there’s basically enough crap out there now that it’s obvious this stuff doesn’t work- but i get it, people are always trying. So, if you actually intend to try it, along with a diet and excercise regime, to supplement your weight loss; use your head and pay with a pre-paid cc. You can buy visa gift cards at the bank for 4.00 for any amount- buy one for ten bucks; sign up for 10 free trials w 99 cent s/h- and in the end, you only spent 14.00. if one works by some miracle, get another pre paid card- then you won’t get rippe off (and they DO accept pre paids- they have exp dates and security code #’s on back; and you can even register it with your name and address on the bank site- and you don’t need a bank account to buy one- i’ve ALWAYS used pre paids for free trial stuff; regardless of what it is; b/c i know this kind of stuff happens).
