Does Xenadrine RFA-X Work?

Xenadrine RFA-X, from Cytogenix, is newest product of the family after similar products were banned because of ephedrine content.  It claims to be worth $60.  There isn’t a whole lot of information on it yet, but here’s a snapshot.

Xenadrine RFA-X Ingredients

The most prominent “ingredient” here is the massive proprietary blend of the following ingredients:

• Tyroplex (proprietary blend of l-tyrosine and acetyl-l-tyrosine), Green Tea Extract, (standardized for epigallocatechin gallate, caffeine and polyphenols,) Seropro (proprietary cocoa extract standardized for PEA [phenylethylamine], tyramine and theobromine), Yerba Mate (standardized for caffeine and methylxanthines), Guarana (standardized for theophyline), Calcium Tribasic, dl-Methionine, L-Theanine, Ginger Root (standardized for gingerols), Isotherm (proprietary blend of 3,3′,4′,5-7 pentahydroxyflavone and 3, 3′,4′,7-tetrahyroxyflavone), DMAE (2-dimethylaminoethanol), Grape Seed Extract (standardized for catechins).

This formula contains some good ingredients like l-tyrosine, green tea, cocoa, yerba mate, and ginger, but it is unclear how much of each is in here.  For all we know they could have included a ton of green tea and barely anything else, or cocoa powder and little else.  I am encouraged by many of the ingredients I see but it looks to contain a ton of stimulants and the other ingredients are ambiguous.

Conclusion

I don’t normally recommend products that are basically one complicated proprietary blend….and Xenadrine is no exception.  Though it doesn’t ask top dollar necessarily for this formula, it doesn’t really merit medium dollar either.  Look for something more honest and reliable with actual ingredient concentrations and less side effects.
